Scamp Holiday Wish List

Hey Folks,

My wife and I put a deposit down on a Scamp 16'. We have three little ones and hope to do some interesting adventuring in it. We will be picking up in August from Backus, but hopefully earlier if we get lucky. For now, we were looking to see what people might suggest for a holiday wish list for our relatives to purchase things off of. It seems we need some sort of grill to be set up outside under the awning. We would like to transport some bikes if there is a suggest bike rack that is known to work with Scamps. And I am sure there are a bunch of other things that we will need as first time trailer owners. Please let us know if you have any suggestions that Scamp folk know that we won't be able to travel without. Thank you!

Congrats

As far as what you mentioned,  any hitch mount bike rack will do... your trailer will be a 4 inch mount on the rear so any 4 inch bike rack works. Most racks are 2 inch but come with the adapter. I highly recommend Thule racks, they are the best but they are expensive. Keep your grill to a small, portable one. Your space with such a family will be filled up easily. I have and love the  Nomadiq, at Amazon https://amzn.to/47HKyip  ...it is tabletop, portable,  collapsible and works off of propane. Not cheap, 299... but it is quality.

Do you have outdoor "camping"

Do you have outdoor "camping" gear, such as carpet, chairs, table? How about electrical extension cord and water hose?

wishlist

Thanks folks! I added the recommended items to my Amazon wish list. The only thing we haven't thought much about is the rug, but it make sense to keep dirt and stuff out of the trailer

I am not exactly sure what a 4 inch bike rack means. I googled a bit, but remain confused. At some point, I will get out and speak to someone in a store and then it will probably make more sense, haha!

Thanks again for your responses.

Sorry!

My bad, lol... 2 inch! 1 inch is the smaller one and 2 is the larger one... 2 is what trailers are pulled with and what Scamp puts on the back. 1 inch is commonly on bike racks, travel carrier trays,  etc. I think a class 1 is only on 1 inch hitches... there are adapters and some bike racks include the adapter with the rack... Thule does... and these are also probably rounded off number names- they may be like a quarter inch larger (much like wood measurements) I'd guess... the inch hitch size is the inner width of the hitch measurements, what slides into the receiver. Also you would want the adapter that makes a 1 inch shaft larger to fit snuggly in the 2 inch hole (hitch). Not the other way around which they do make too... AND none of this refers to ball size, a completely different thing if I've totally confused you...
