Leak

I called Scamp service this AM and after some discussion about different options, I've decided to order new windows for the sides and back.  I really do appreciate the comments and suggestions you all gave.  Right now a carpet cleaning friend has a de-humidifier going in the Scamp and a heavy duty fan and it's pulled out a lot of water--like a soup pan full!!  AND the sun is coming out in the mountains with no rain in the forecast.  Thanks again for your help!!

belly band leak

Sympathizing with your leak issues. Looks like you've found the source, but I will add this in case others have untraceable leaks. In our 2017 16' model (which we love and have used a lot!) I began to find water in the left rear compartment where the converter is. One time there was so much in there (during torrential rains in Acadia last fall) that it washed down onto the linoleum floor. I took apart the running lights, checked the power cord port, examined all the windows. . .just could not find that leak. Then I started feeling around the belly band out of curiosity and noticed some small gaps. I filled them with 3M Marine Sealant, and the leakage certainly diminished, but did not go away. One day a couple of days after a hard rain, I happened to be leveling the trailer for some reason or other, and I noticed a steady but small trickle of water from about the mid-point of the belly band on the left side. It trickled for quite a few seconds, enabling me to pinpoint the entry point. After I let everything dry out for a couple of days, I sealed that area, and I'm happy to say that the leak has not recurred. It was funny to me (once the problem was solved) how water can travel from an unexpected entry point to show up in a completely other part of the trailer. The problem did not occur for the first 5+ years of use, probably happened just as a result of the bumping and vibration and loosening up of things over time. Hope this helps somebody else!

Leak

Thanks for this info on the belly bad leak!!!  Who would have thought??  And funny, not funny...it wasn't the windows that were leaking, but now I have pretty windows!!!  It was this square piece on top of the Scamp where something had been removed and a plate was put in.  Got that all tight now and really did find the leak...I hope!!
