water hose

Hi ! Just a quick question...I will be using hookups for the first time this winter for my 13' Scamp.

What size hose ...diameter and minimum length .... do I need to hook up to the available water

source in a private campground? Is there a standard size? Thanks!

The PEX tubing used for water lines throughout the Scamp are 1/2" diameter so 1/2" would be the minimum but 5/8" is a more typical size sold. Regarding length, the electrical cord on the Scamp is 25 ft long so having a 25 ft long water hose should be a good match since hookups tend to be located in the same area. A 50 ft hose could be more useful, however, around the house when connecting to the Scamp, depending on your situation.

We have tried the cheap Camco TastePURE drinking water hose and also the SmartFlex RV/Marine water hose, and find the flex hose to be far superior in terms of coiling and uncoiling in cool weather. The TasePURE hose wants to kink up and fights back hard.

Campgrounds that don't have drinking water hookups at each camp site likely have a drinking water pump elsewhere on the grounds where you can fill your fresh water tank prior to setting up camp. Some have hoses already attached to them.

Don't forget to use a water regulator when using city water hookups.

Water hose

Simple hose designed for potable water is all you need. Park close enuf to hydrant and coiling affect is mute.
