Our new 16 Deluxe; fits in garage!

Our brand new 16 Deluxe front bath/side dinette was delivered yesterday. Ordered 6/20 so really happy to finally have it here. I've heard it's even longer now.  It's just as advertised with the new flat door, LED lights, and the options we wanted. Also, got to use the ParkIt 360 and it's REALLY easy for moving trailer in and out of garage. My biggest concern was that it might be a bit too tall for our 7'11" garage door height but it goes in with a bit to spare. The larger bed fits me fine (6') and is enough room for both of us. The biggest (kind of) issue is that when I sit at either dinette I have to be careful not to bang my head on the cabinets! Ouch! But I suspect I'll learn....

Attached are a couple pics. Hope everyone with a Scamp on order gets theirs soon!

Would you be willing to share pictures of the inside? I'm especially interest in the part about having to watch your head when getting up from the dinette table. Is that because of some, possibly optional, cabinets?  What is parkit360? Also, that looks just like my truck!

Garage Door

First of all, congratulations on your new 16' scamp.   We presently have a 13' scamp and have a 16' front bath on order to be delivered in May of next year.  When we placed our order last January the salesman told us that it was the same outside height as the 13' (7' 6").  But when we read the specs we discovered that it is really 7' 10".  We have an 8 ft. garage door.  However, when actually measured it comes out to be 1/2' short of 7' 10".  I'm concerned that it might not fit under our garage door and since we live in a HOA, parking in our driveway is not an option.   So is your garage door actually 7' 10", or is it possible that the new 16' scamp measures slightly less than what is listed.  We live in Southern, Utah and we hate the thought of bringing it all this way and finding out it won't fit.  Any thoughts.   Thanks, Jake

All may not be lost

If you are that close to fitting into the garage, you might be able to deflate the tires and back in.  You can inflate the tires more inside the garage for storage.

A more expensive option would be to have a contractor raise the opening to the garage door.  My father did this.  He had a hinged board that he would flip to make the opening larger and then flip it down to close the gap above the garage door.  A contractor might be able to come up with a better looking solution.  Garage door installers have probably encountered this problem and have a good solution.

Dollies

Take the wheels off and put four wheeled dollies under the axil.  You should easily lose a half foot of height.  Harbor Freight sell a pair for about $50.
