Greetings!

Greetings all!

My wife and I are going to be buying a Scamp 5th wheel next year, late spring or early summer. I've been retired a couple years, and she will retire before we buy another trailer. Over the years, we've owned two stickies, both Starcrafts, and a fiberglass trailer, a Parkliner.  While we liked the Parkliner, after 5 years we believed it was just too small, and sold it, determining we would not buy another trailer until we were both retired. We're both in good health, and plan to travel as soon as we can.

I was a commercial lender and my wife is a computer programmer, now working at home until she retires.

This is our old Parkliner being pulled by my wife's Escape (she just bought a new hybrid RAV-4).  I have a crewcab F150 we'll set up for a new trailer.

Enjoy your day all!

Welcome

Glad you're here. Congrats on retirement and future retirement.

Just a caution if you haven't picked up on this yet. If ordering new most of the molded glass manufacturers are running 13-18 mos from order to delivery. If you haven't experienced buying one of these used, well it can be quite a difficult endeavor. If I came across a used one now with your timing, I'd probably pick it up and use the winter to mod it out and make it special to be ready to go next summer.

Keep us posted on which way you go, and hope to see you out there soon.

Can't buy until we sell the

Can't buy until we sell the house next late spring/early summer.  Really don't want to finance one, but maybe that's what we should do.  I need to call Scamp tomorrow with some questions, and this would be a good one to ask.  Thanks for the heads up.

New Scamp delay

If you think that you are going to want a new Scamp next year, I'd call and get the information now. There can be a long wait depending on what you order.

We know pretty much what we

We know pretty much what we want, but have some questions. I'm building a new raised deck in the back, but it's supposed to rain at some point tomorrow.

Well folks, if I send in 500

Well folks, if I send in 500 bucks today (or tomorrow I suppose), I can get a new 19 footer February 2022.  That's right, 2022. At least, I would lock in the price...

I'd go for it.

Did you ask about refunds of the down payment if you back out? One may come up used that you like, and you can back out. Even if you forfeit the $500 you may still be thousands ahead. Also, Eveland’s may get ahead of schedule or someone else may back out of one that is almost like the one you ordered.  Good luck!
