Stolen Scamp - Help Us #FindScampy

This was definitely not how I thought my first post on here was going to be. I have always loved Scamps and have been browsing this site for years. I always dreamed of getting one but once my girlfriend and I decided to get a trailer and laid out our needs, I knew that a Scamp was not realistic.

Our trailer needed to meet the following requirements.
1. Separate area for eating and sleeping.
2. Light enough to tow with my SUV.
3. Plenty of storage for our gear.

As much as I loved the Scamps the 13 and 16 were too small and the 19 footer could not be towed by my SUV (and there wasn't enough storage).

Affter we set our requirements we logged onto Craiglist and could not believe it when we found a 1994 19 ft Scamp that had been converted from the 5th wheel connection to the standard pull hitch, so my SUV could pull it. It even had extra storage added so we had actually found our dream trailer and it was a Scamp after all. We went and met with the owner and it was spectacular. Scampy was we could have dreamed of and more. The next week the seller brought Scampy from San Diego to our friends driveway in Las Vegas and Scampy was ours. Our new adventourous dream life was becoming a reality right in front of our ours eyes.

Once I got trailer lights installed on my SUV we decided to move Scampy to storage so it would be safer. We drove him over to IPI Self Storage and parked him in the assigned space as instructed. We drove home that day feeling like a million dollars.

Two days later we received a phone call we will never forget. Someone had broken into the storage facility and stolen Scampy. This happened on Saturday the 19th and we are absolutely crushed. The video footage is too dark and blurry to be of any use and we really don't have any leads at the moment. We filed a police report that day and we still  have not been contacted by any detectives.

I am holding out hope because Scampy is so unique. It looks more like a submarine than a trailer. If you happen to be somewhere and see it please message me at ScampMarineTeam@Gmail.com. Our insurance policy includes a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the recovery and an arrest.

Scampy

So very sorry this happened. This is such a unique trailer, that it should be recovered at some point hopefully.

Since we own and run fiberglass-rv-4sale.com we actually know a bit of recent selling history on this trailer. If the insurance company is not valuing it to your satisfaction, use the sold archives at our 4sale site to pull some recent comps for it. It will be hard to value the custom work, but should be able to.

Again, sorry to hear the news and we will have our eyes on the resales for you. Since we are very familiar with this trailer, we'll spot any ad attempts quickly.

Thank you!

We were so scared that we were only going to get some of the value of a 1994 Scamp which was much lower than what we paid. This really helps a lot.

Sorry

So sorry to here these stories.  We hope it shows up in good shape and quickly.  After hearing of so many of these occurance's  we now use a pad lock. A tubular tongue lock that encloses the locking /latching portion. and have the Scamp in the drive backwards with the tongue facing the garage.. Until now we never locked any of our trailers.  How nutz is that. . We hope its uniqueness helps it get recovered.

You may want to change the title to Stolen Scamp. DO you have a picture of the hitch area. Also the plate state and number if it had one.Where is IPI Self Storage?

This is the second one in a week, stolen from a lot. Any leads so far??

Update

IPI is in Las Vegas. Unfortunately there are not any leads. The detectives still haven't even reached out yet.

This is a GREAT time to let people know that the TILE is not a tracker. It is a where did it last connect to the phone device. I have four of them and have used them many times to find both keys and phone. But I have a real tracker built into the wall of my SCAMP'

The security cam looks distorted to make the Scamp look tall. Here is a still that is stretched horizontlly.
