We picked up our 16' Scamp in August in Backus and drove it home 700 miles through MN, WI and MI Upper & Lower with our 2020 Ranger. We had the refrigerator running 12VDC during travel, although we were careful to turn it off at rest stops and lunch (taking heed to the forum warninngs). That said, I had one incident with my brake controller flashing red, which in my case meant a loose connection (as it turns out). When I pulled over and reset the connector between the Scamp and the Ranger, everything was fine. Now, here's the rub - the lights were all working, just the brake controller indicator gave me a hint that something was up. I only mention this because you said you towed with a Ranger. At least on my Ranger, the connection has no satisfying "click"; and the weight of the wiring cable can pull it just a tad loose. My solution was to drape the wire around the front jack loosely so gravity wasn't pulling it down (I'm going to bungy it for our next trip). You may have a similar issue where your battery isn't receiving sufficient charge; or of course, you could have a defective battery. Good luck.
I hope so!
