Ground to Top of the ball height

In approximately 2-3 weeks We should  be able to pick up our new 2019 Scamp 13 standard with shower/bath. I remember reading the height for the hitch is 18 inches. I presume with 150 lb on the tongue the Subaru will sag an inch or two. What will the height from ground to the top inside of the ball-socket be for the trailer to sit level when going down the road. I am hoping to have this all sorted out before we get there to ease the delivery time . Better for Scamp and we have 10+ hr drive home after delivery. I hope to finish the trailer wiring today/tomorrow including the electric brake and Battery power. The only remaining issue is where the silly Subaru Back up wire is run . It is not included in the factory lighting plug as the wiring schematic implies. Has anyone else come across this on there newer Subaru. I want B/U lights and will power the B/U camera from it too.

Thanks

Accurate Ball Height

Measure from the ground to the top of the hitch receiver with a 150 lb. weight on the hitch. (Have someone stand on it.) Add 3" for the ball and buy a ball mount with the correct drop or lift to get to 18". You should be about right.

Likely

I likely have the correct as I have several, So if the trailer needs 18" then 18" it will get With the Crosstrek it will require about a 2 inch drop

Thanks

I have an 2019 outback and

I have an 2019 outback and did not hook up the back up lights. I taped into the four way for the cold side for the brake.   I also ran the wires for the brake controlller and seven way under the sill plates on the passenger side behind the glove box and out of the firewall to battery.  For the back lights tap into the tail lights.

My hitch height Is 19 inches,  but when the car is loaded 18.  I would suggest an anti rattle device for the receiver.

Tail light wire at trailer connector

I found in wiring diagrams for the backup wiring system that a wire runs to the trailer connector. I confirmed this on my 2018. There is no pin for the #3 position on the plug for the four wire trailer kit. Why Subaru would bother to run the wire and then not pick it up is beyond me. But it is there. I tapped into it and ran a wire in the same loom as the others. I'll hook it to a relay for the backup wire in the 7-wire trailer plug. It's a lot easier than trying to tap into the lighting wires as the backup lights are on the lift gate.
