I'm installing a 7-wire plug, running a 10-gauge duplex wire from the back to the engine compartment. I discovered an easy way to route it along the floor channel but can't figure out how to get it from the cabin to the engine compartment. I'd prefer the drivers side but there's not an obvious route. The fuse box and wiring, brake pedal and brake assist unit, and other stuff makes it crowded on both sides of the firewall. On the passenger side, the hvac and glovebox block much of the access. I know others have run the wires inside. How did you get through the firewall?
thanks
tom
Ham radio installers sometimes poke a hole in the grommet in the firewall. Some even have unused grommets where the clutch went through back when we still knew how to shift.
My apologies but some how I posted this twice. To any new respondents, it'll ge simpler if we just add to the other thread. Sorry about that.
Meanwhile thanks for the picture and approach. I'm a bit hesitant as the car is on an extended warranty and don't want any possibility of a breach of that boot and bundle to be viewed as the reason for an electronics failure. Hmmm.
