I've never done this before, so I don't know where to begin. I have a 16' Deluxe. Any tips will be greatly appreciated!

Tips for putting the cover on my Scamp for the winter.
Put down old pads or carpet to protect the the cover from sharp edges. Set the folded cover on top and then unfold it and drop it over the sides. I added a cheap plastic tarp to protect the cover. Then tie it down or even add load straps over the top if you are in a windy location.
Spread the cover across a clean surface, weather side up. Roll up the cover from the front to the middle and do the same from the rear. Take a light rope and tie a loop around one end of this "sausage", toss the rope over the camper, pull the cover across the top until equally spread side to side, untie and unroll to the front and rear. Secure as necessary.
Keep in mind as soon as you start this the neighborhood dogs and children will want to cavort on your nice clean cover and the wind will pick up!

I had to put the cover on my Jayco fifth wheel three time the first year I owned it. The winter winds blew it off the first two times. That’s when I started using load tie down straps all the way around it to hold the cover. BTW, I now have a round top instant shelter, I just back the Scamp in and I’m done. (And they cost less than a Calmark cover). You do need to keep the heavy snow off of both the Scamp or Round Top.
How does the shelter do in the wind? Do you have additional stakes or hold-downs? Starting to shop for this type of setup.

I have extra screw in anchors and turn buckles and had the wind open the zipper last winter. I tied the zipper down and then it pulled open in the center in high wind. I removed the snow all winter and had no problem and then one of the seams failed on the first 95 degree day. They sent me a free replacement but I think that due to all the work I'm going to sell the replacement and buy a 15 year cover for it.
I've just been looking into these as well. The brand/quality of your shelter would help with my decision. Since our regional big box store is having their 11% off sale and the first snow is flying I figure now is the time to get one.
The local "big box" store sells it with the one-year warranty cover. The company also offers ten (under $1000) and fifteen (over $1000) year warranty covers. The frame is good when well anchored, but the cheap cover failed in the heat of the summer. I expected it to fail in the record snow fall and removed the snow after every snowfall. Please note that they did send me a replacement for the failed one no charge.
