2007 13ft Scamp Axle issues

I purchased my 2007 13 foot Scamp this past summer. I had noticed that on the passenger side, the you could not place a finger between the tire and front of the body. On the left side there is 2 1/4 " space between the tire and the body. I had new tires put onto the trailer but nothing was mentioned of concern. This weekend,  I went to have the bearings repacked but the mechanic did not want to do these until I had the axle checked. I am new to owning a Scamp and I am not near any factory. What knowledge/ information do I need to know when replacing the axle. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Scamp 13 Axle

It sounds like your axle may be bent or damaged somehow. If it is a bolt on axle maybe the bolts on one side are missing! I am attaching a picture of the axle information of our 2015 13 Scamp. The numbers might help you with a possible axle replacement. Our 2015  axle is a bolt on axle. The bolt on axles should be fairly easy to change. Bolt off, bolt on! If your axle is welded on you will need a welder to replace it. Hope this helps.

Axle is not the problem.

The passenger side of the Scamp shells are flared out at the lower part of the door to allow for the door frame. Also the front part of the wheel opening sets to the rear making a tight fit even with stock tires. People installing larger tires sometimes have to remove the trim loc and trim the shell back and reinstall the trim. If you stand back and look at your scamp you will see the body under the door sits lower. Your axle OK it's just a Scamp thing that is normally not noticeable.
