My wife and I had been looking for a used 13ft layout 1 for a few months now. Affordable decent options seemed to be hard to come by where we live in So.Cal. and we couldn't get to some out of state options in Colorado, Mississippi, etc fast enough. We wanted something by June, so we hadn't really considered a new Scamp as an option, plus based on what I see some fairly new, but used new ones sell for much more than I wanted to spend. Anyways last week my wife called Scamp to ask a couple questions that we were curious about and the sales person said "I can put your name on a call list and when we get a cancellation the sales team just starts calling people. The first person to put down a deposit, gets it." The only caveat is it's already built to someone else's specification. We figured no harm in being on the list, we probably wont get a call and if we do it would likely be more than we want to spend. Long story short, we got a call yesterday morning that they had a 2019 13' layout 1 available. I almost fell out of my chair when I heard the final price. I instantly said "We'll take it!" Now don't get me wrong, it's still a lot of money, but relatively speaking I couldn't believe how cheap a fully loaded standard model is when compared to what people are asking for them used and probably getting since they don't seem to last long. They are $4000-$5000 less if you buy them brand new vs. a year or two old used. It's bizarro world. So I now have a new Scamp which is ready for pickup immediately. If you're considering a newer model Scamp, call and get yourself put on the call list.

Scamp just made my day.
I find a lot of people try to recover their delivery cost. IMO the second buyer should not have to deal with his shipping along with the first buyers shipping. But people ask what the market allows. It's always good to check the factory prices, some people just can't wait a few months for a new unit. BTW you get a warranty with a new trailer.

You're probably right that people try and recover their delivery costs and I agree that people ask/get what the market allows for their used Scamps. Fortunately I have the time this summer to drive the 2,000 miles to Minnesota to pick up my new Scamp. Out of curiosity, I asked what it would cost to have my trailer delivered to San Diego and was quoted $2,200.
