Removing toilet

I’m sure this has been mentioned but I cannot find any information. We were thinking of removing our toilet as it leaks and we’ve never used it or plan on using. Wondering what the steps are including how to plug the remaining hole and how it affects the water system. Also what people might use for emergencies like a port a potty etc. Thanks in advance.

Toilet removal

First disconnect the water line, It can be cut and capped with a Sharkbite fitting or pex plug and crimp band. Next the drain pipe is screwed into the bottom of the tank. The pipe can't be unscrewed because of a 90 degree fitting. You cut the 3" drain pipe at the 90 degree fitting so you can unscrew the drain pipe. Then there is a tank vent line. Go outside and remove the small grill. You can cut the vent pipe in the cabin and remove it from the wall. Make a patch for the hole in the shell and install. (You can modify the vent cover.) The toilet can be removed after the after removing 3 or 4 screws at the tank base. You may have to work the tank base loose since the tank is set on a wax seal.

Floor repair: Find thickness of floor then with the same thickness or plywood hold plywood to the floor under the hole and trace for cutting. Cut plug and attach to a larger piece of plywood then screw the larger piece of plywood to the underside of the floor. Do not glue the backer board to the floor you may want to install the toilet. You can place a sealant around your plug from the top.

Let me know if you want to get rid of the toilet if it is a 711 model.

Thank you for the reply.

Thank you for the reply. Sounds like more than I want to bother with lol. May just keep it as is and not use it.
