The scamp trailer with awning has to fit into my 7' 8" garage door and I need to make sure it will fit before we travel 1700 miles to pick it up.

What year is your trailer? Pre 2006 S-13's are 3 " shorter. It is best to get a measurement of the trailer you are picking up. There quite a few threads over on fiberglass RV on how people have gotten trailers into tight garage doors. You are lucky to be dealing with a 7'8" opening most people try to get them in 7' garage doors. Sorry I can't help with measurements but with a pre 2006 S-13 and no air you may be in luck.
