I am a new Scamp owner and new to this forum!
I very recently purchased a used 1997 Scamp 13.
While trying to hook up my new 20lb propane tank to the Scamp, I discovered it does not sit correctly on the trailer tongue.
There are four metal tabs (pictured below) which it seems the tank should hook into, but alas, they do not match up with the tank. The tubing also seems to be in the way.
Am I missing something? Do these tabs come standard on Scamps or did a previous owner add them? Is there a different kind of propane tank I should be looking for?
Any help/suggestions will be much appreciated!

Those metal tabs look to be fairly bent. They should be pretty much straight up and do act to lock in the tank when correct. There should also be a metal strap that goes up and hooks over the top flange of the propane tank and is tightened down to secure the tank, which is not shown in the pic. Also looks like it is time for a new regulator hose assmbly. I use to get the single stage BBQ ones at home depot to replace it on the Scamp 13 that were a direct replacement.

You got some good advice. The tabs are welded on at the factory and they have since been bent. Straighten them and metal fatigue will weaken them.. how much is hard to predict. The single tank sits inside the tabs and in your photo you can even see the tank base location in the rust on the cross members. The hold-downs are attached to the frame cross members with bolts. (Double tanks use a tray). I added spaces, wingnuts and lock washers to mine to make it easier to remove the tank. But truth be told, its a sloppy hold down and you can do better if you want to.
The photo looks more like the umbilical electrical cord than the propane line. And if it is wrapped with electrical tape as it seems to be, its likely because the insulation is worn and its time to replace it. Consider using a gang box. They are usually mounted on the tongue but I put mine inside tha camper.
And mount the regulator with the vents facing within 45 degrees of straight down. Despite it being the way it is supposed to be mounted, and my reminding Scamp of that fact, they still seem to be mounting them with the vents horizontally at 90 degrees causing premature failure because water does not drain out.
