My most recent trip to the Scamp factory resulted in fine additions to our beloved Scamp. We got a bicycle receiver hitch welded on, a retractable step under the entrance door welded on, new door seal, new bath door handle, new TV antenna installed, new Fiama awning, new spare tire cover, 12 volt charge port, and a complete check out of our electrical system, as we had a problem. Technicians assured us that any Scamp owner can have about anything added on to their Scamp. Customer service was truly outstanding! We now have a deluxe Scamp!

Mods to our 16
We had a new door seal installed at Backus two summers ago on our 2013 16' side dinette. It has been so hard to close the door ever since. They told us it would get easier but you have to push hard next to the handle from the outside as you turn the handle and pull it slammed from the inside as you hurriedly try to turn the handle closed. I mean slammed! Is there another rubber gasket that I can replace it with that isn't so thick? I sure don't want my door leaking either. When you had yours replaced did it close hard? I am worried that all this slamming will result in bigger problems. Advise is much appreciated.

Hi Doug, I have seen many post on SOI and am curious if you ever sold your beloved Scamp 16 that you added so many updates to, if not could you send some info about it?. Thanks Doug
