Hi, just picked up my first Scamp a few days ago. I discovered on the way home that the hatch popped open while driving. It seems the crank is stripped and I can’t close the hatch tightly, or at least not tight enough to keep it closed while driving. It is currently being held shut with duct tape. Is it possible to replace the crank, fix the crank, or the does the whole hatch need to be replaced?

Hatch crank stripped?
Eastern Marine carries a good selection of vent parts. You will more than likely need to know the vent mfg. The large vents are prone to opening on the road. I sometimes use a rubber band from the trim to the handle to keep the vent shut.

Scamp has, or did have, parts available. I got a replacement closer from them a few years back. Give them a call.
