We have a 2016 16' Deluxe and we are wondering where the sensor for the thermostat is located. It doesn't seem to matter how chilly it gets inside, the thermostat shows the temperature in the 70's. If we set the thermostat up higher, like near 80, the furnace will start up for a while, until it gets rather comfortable, then shuts down again. We are wondering if the sensor is located on the back of the thermostat, under the counter, and is possibly getting a false reading from the water heater which is nearby.
We do leave the bed across the back set up as we don't really need the dinette for just the two of us. Would that somewhat insulate the thermostat from the real temp?
Thank you.

The thermostat is the temp sensor. Scamp placement on the side of the lower cabinets can cause issues as you have experienced. I usually relocate the thermostat. One trailer I bought the PO made a bracket for the spiral metal post and mounted the orig. thermostat on the post, that location worked great. My later Scamp's I installed Honeywell 1000 digital thermostats, that was the biggest improvement. The thermostat should be mounted at least 4' above the floor near the center of the trailer. There are only two wires to deal with not rocket science to move the thermostat ( Pull the furnace fuse when messing with it). The digital thermostats require their own battery to to operate. Make sure you carry a spare battery and change out your battery each fall.
