Helio O2

Yes, I know this is a Scamp forum and yes I have a Scamp 13 on order.  My Scamp has a two year wait.  In the meantime, I have been looking at the Helio O2. anyone have firsthand knowledge of the Helio?  If so, what are your thoughts?  I'm seriously considering buying a Helio mostly because I can get it in about a month - not two years.

A year and half ago I was thinking about the O2 as well for the same reason -- But the wait was shorter then, and we went with Scamp .  The optional A/C is inside rather than on the roof, which I liked -- But appears underpowered for high temperatures and/or humidity.  Looks like they have changed it a bit now, but suggest researching it if A/C performance in hot/humid weather is important to you.

I think you can go see one if you're willing to drive a ways...  Best of luck whichever way you go!

Helio O2

We have members here with all types of trailers so don't worry about Scamp only, we welcome all and their experience.

The mfgr claims in a strange way the Helio is molded fg. It is not. It is at least three plus panels joined at two side roof seems, similar to all sticky trailer construction.

I glanced through the pics etc and seems like a functional trailer, but will not last as long and require more maintenance than a true molded FG trailer. Looks very similar to a t@b trailer. Also appears to be more $$$ than a 13 Scamp. It is sold thru a dealer network, so if a dealer has any inventory you probably could get one sooner.

You just need to decide what works best for you. I don't know how old you are, but many Scamps are left in wills after many years of use. Could be wrong, but I don't think a Helio is going to be that type of trailer. However, may meet your needs for the immediate.
