Battery Does Not Hold Charge

We have a new 2020 Scamp 13' basic model, no toilet or shower, no furnace, no AC.

When our trailer has been parked at home for one or two weeks the battery is dead.

No lights have been used and the refrigerator is off.

The CO detector fuse has been removed so that is not what is draining it.

Is there something else that could be draining the battery, maybe a stand-by feature on the roof fan?

Thanks,

Anne and Peter

Fan

Do you have the remote control fan? That should take a while to run it down.

What are you charging it with and to what voltage?

Pull all of the fuses and check for current flow at each location.

If you don't have a meter ...

If you don't have a meter for amperage to check for and isolate a parasitic current drain, try just disconnecting the battery itself and see if it still goes dead.  It it does, the battery is self-discharging excessive and the fix is replacing it.

If you want a meter

Harbor freight sells one for 6$. Is was free with purchase but I think they discontinued that. It's junk but works well for RV use.

Stolen, lost or damaged you are not out much. Don't forget to print a 20% coupon.

Another method

Good idea to disconnect the battery to test that. then In place of a amp meter for draw check You can disconnect either one of the  battery terminals and put a simple 12 volt test light between the removed terminal and its  battery post If the light illuminates bright there is something still using power and disconnecting fusses and connectors and anything possible until the test light stops lighting then you found the culprit. ( Verify the test light works first )
