Most often Conventional shocks are mounted from a stud or bolt at the arm the spindle sticks out of and the top end is mounted up or perpendicular to the travel of that arm to another mounting stud. I do not think there is any structure above the axle to attach them. One could weld on supports and studs but might be fairly large project. It could make a nice improvement in ride.   it could be reversed and go down to some structure welded on
