I just purchased a Scamp, the title says 1967 is this possible? I've been researching the Scamp and according to their web site they started in 1971. I'm pretty excited this is a nice camper a 13 foot one with yellow bottom and white upper. I have been wanting one of these for years and a friend of mine received this one as payment for a job he did. It took me 2 years to talk it out of him! Any help on the history is appreciated. I Google Scamp and just got more confused. Thanks!

Glad to have you in the clubhouse! No, you don't have a 1967 Scamp, wasn't around then. Probably juxtaposed the numbers and it's a 1976 Scamp. Take a look at our VIN Decoder page and this might identify it for you: http://www.scampowners.com/scamp-trailer-vin-decoder
Post some pics up and we might be able to get close on the year as well.

Like Greg said it's not a 67. If the VIN starts with 1E with about 5 numbers It's pre mid 1982. In mid 1982 the changed to the 17 digit VIN starting with 1S7. Windows are the best way to guesstimate Scamp year of mfg. You need to try to post a picture.

Thank you both for the information. It looks like it is a 1976 by the VIN. I will be adding a picture. Regardless of the year I am pretty excited I got the plates today and will be picking this up in a few weeks. It is parked about 900 miles from here. I have wanted a Egg for a long time and when I saw my friends I wanted THAT one. Luckily he is restoring another camper and after all the work he has done he decided to let my scamp go. I have a few minor repairs, a door seal and a couple amber lens other than that this is in nice condition. I am looking forward to learning more about the scamp. I have just retired and I am really anxious to do some exploring! Thanks, Mike
