What vehicle to tow a 19' scamp fifth wheel?

I have been interested in RV living for a while and just discovered the Scamp fifth wheel, and I just love it! I wanted to know what you guys recommend or use to tow it? I was thinking of waiting to see if Subaru ever does come out with the new Baja (which I have heard an awful lot of rumors about) because it'd probably be able to tow around 5,000 lbs, which would be more than sufficient for the little fifth wheel. Anything would be appreciated, and thank you!

towing a 19'

Your first choice should be from the dealer that has treated you right in the past. For a small truck, I’d look at the Ford Ranger (properly equipped). Scamp used the old Rangers in their videos. Do not go by the Scamp site weights, look for actual weights of Scamps in use. Be sure the salesman knows you are not bumper towing when you ask about specs, getting off the bumper gains you a lot.

Thank you!

Ok, thank you! The ford ranger was my second choice.

I just towed our new to us 19

I just towed our new to us 19 with my 2012 Frontier for 2k miles. It did great with the 4.0 V6. I do have the Pro-4X with the Dana rear and upgraded springs, but I had power to burn and it towed straight and very stable.

Been looking at the 19' as

Been looking at the 19' as well, and the Ford Ranger is my top pick. That 4.0 v6 puts out a solid amount of torque, and you'll be significantly under towing cap.

I pulled a 1999 Standard

I pulled a 1999 Standard Scamp19' about 100,000 miles split equally between a 2003 Toyota Tacoma, then a 2014 Nissan Frontier. The 4 Liter Nissan worked better than the smaller Toyota engine.
