Has anyone towed a 13 with a 4cyl. 2.5 L Subaru Forester or Outback? If so, were hills a problem and do you recall your approximate MPGs while towing vs. not towing? TIA,

I will be picking up our 13 footer in July and towing it with a 2015 Forester, 2.5L with a six speed manual transmission. I did have a brake controller installed. I'm not worried about it pulling the Scamp. Pulling a trailer with a motorcycle on it, about 1100 lbs. I average 23 to 24 mpg highway.

Thanks for your response. What sort of a difference do you think an automatic transmission in your Forester would make?

I tow with a 2.5 Outback, CVT in the flats I get 34-35mpg, towing about 23-25. In the hills here in the Ozarks 19=21towing, 31=33 not.
Towing I keep it @ 60 on expressway, 2 lanes 50-55 MPH. I hope this helps
I have a 2013 Outback 2.5 with CVT and my mpg thus far has been similar to Enigma1083 or a smidgen less. I also have found that mileage is better at 60 or lower. I did experiment with faster on the interstate, but the mileage dropped so fast that the experiment was pretty short.
