Tires cupping

I have a 1998 16' scamp and my 13" tires are cupping. There are only about 6000 miles on them. Has anyone else had this problem or know what would cause this.

Let's start with the simplest and work forward. What air pressure are you keeping them at?? Should be around 50 PSI.

Tire Cupping

Cupping is usually caused by an Out-of-Balance condition and/or suspension issue.

Just like your Tow Vehicle, you should have your Scamp ( / Camper ) tires balanced when you purchase them.

At this point-in-time you are probably looking at getting new tires.

It is also possible that your Axle needs to be replaced because there is no spring left in your axle.

As Always,

Happy Scamping !!!

Tire Issue

Well inflation is proper, balance you've verified although Discount is known to not always do balancing well, so that is probably suspension/axle related as man with a van indicated. Can you post a picture of a side view of your trailer both pass side and drivers side so we can get a look at how she sits.

Here is the tire wear chart at Dexter axle

according to this cupping is out of balance or bearing adjustment. So when were bearings last re-packed and who did them?

Tires Cupping

Sorry took so long to respond.  Could not get the pictures to upload.  We went to Discount Tires (where we purchased the tires) and they checked everything out and said that all looked good.  The cupping was normal and not to worry about it.  If anything happens they will take care of it but again not to worry.  Again thanks for all the comments.  Really appreciate it.
