Suburban range now easy to clean

The cook top of a gas range must be cleaned after every use. Both outside and inside, below the burners. This should be an easy chore.

The Suburban drop-in cook top in my 13' Scamp was very difficult to reassemble after cleaning. Two hold down screws went into nut hardware located BELOW the stove top. Very, very hard to get those screws to find the nut hardware. The two burner grates are held in place by jagged prongs, wedged into into holes in the stove's top.

I discarded the two hold down screws as being not necessary. The jagged prongs of the burner grates were adjusted so that they are now easily removed and put back into place.

The stove top is now held in place by installing guides to the fiberglass top. These guides are made from small wood blocks Gorilla glued in place. The stove top fits over these wood blocks and contacts the inside of the of stove top. Thus, keeping the stove top from moving while the Scamp is traveling.

Stove Grates

The stove grates can be removed and replaced very easily by squeezing them at the gap in the grates outer circle! They are made to work that way so they don't jump out while on the road!

Range

I like this idea. I'm getting ready to reassemble the kitchen in my 19 and need a better system for the range top. Think I'll try something similar.
