Shorten Rear Dinette Table

My wife and I FINALLY got out in the new-to-us scamp 16 a couple weekends ago now, and found that the dinette table was a HUGE pain to get in and out of.  The PO had added a bunk board to better support the inboard end of the double bed (about 16" wide) that simply overlapped the table end, with a free standing support leg placed at the edge of the "dancefloor"  That gave me the idea to cut the table length to give some unobstructed seating and make getting into the dinette easier.  It was a quick mod, and made a HUGE difference in my opinion.  The table length I settled on was 29", though it appears that as much as 31" would have worked too.  We think this is MUCH more comfortable in use.

Nice

I like that! Do you have a picture of the dance floor support and did you cope the board to fit the bench ledges at all. I want to change mine this winter.

Thanks

Doug, Thanks for going to the trouble to take a picture of the support. There are quite a number of us trying to figure a way to slide into the dinette a little easier. I've seen where some people have cut the table and installed piano hinge and supports to make it friendlier.

Did you have to take the

Did you have to take the bracket off the camper and re-rivet it or just unscrew the table underneath?
