Screws in the back wall

As we are cleaning up busted caps we found two odd screws on the exterior back wall, below the belly band and on either side of the spare tire. The caps were deteriorated and they were covering some Phillips head wood screws that had rusted too much to determine their length.

What do these screws do? Should I replace them or just fill the holes with epoxy? If I should replace them, any guess on what length they should be?

Thanks for any help. I am trying to include a picture of the screw on the curb side of the spare so you can see the location. Thanks!

Screws

The screws hold the piece of plywood that the table bracket is mounted to. The screws are used to hold the plywood in place until the plywood is glassed in place on the rear wall. Once the wood is glassed to the wall they really serve no real purpose other tan fill the holes.  If you remove them and glass the holes you should be OK.

Thanks.

Thanks again Eddie. That makes way more sense than anything I was imagining.
