Scamp weight? trailer brake make and model important?

Will the Tekonsha primus IQ trailer brake do well for my Tacoma pulling a 16' Scamp or is there a better make or model?  I'd rather be on the simple side and do not need all the complex settings of the more expensive $100+ models.

Have you found your non-deluxe(oak wood) 16' Scamp to be the weight the company says it is, 1800-2000 lbs or are they a bit heavier?

Tekonsha

Tekonsha makes a quality product and E-trailer is a great vendor with outstanding service. Check out the E trailer site or call them and  they will be able to help you with any questions on your specific vehicle controller install. (Not connected with either vendor or product.)

Tekonsha

Tekonsha is probably one of the more popular brands, I've used the same Prodigy controller for 10 years with no issues.

If you have an Amazon Prime account hard to beat getting the brake controllers on Amazon

Does your Tacoma have a factory tow package where you'll just need the correct harness to connect the brake controller?
