Has anyone had any experience locating a good RV repair shop in Illinois for a Scamp?
Ours has developed a leak on the discharge side of the Sealand Toilet tank. I found black water leaking down the sides of the black 3-inch discharge pipe up high on the underside of the floor. I know I could head back to the factory but wondered if anyone has found a shop they like to use.
I am located in Central Illinos
thanks in advance

Jeff,
That might be covered under warranty. Have you checked with Scamp to get authorization? If so, they may have a recommendation for a shop.

Repair info FYI so you know what you are dealing with.
Good news: The repair is simple, unscrew the tall piece from the bottom of the tank , clean and reseal the threads.
Bad News: (Not really so bad) The tail piece will not unscrew because the rest of the drain pipe is glued together until you get to the valve. The plumbing will not clear the frame to unscrew the pipe. All the ABS pipes/ fittings will have to be replaced. You have to cut the elbow off to unscrew the tail piece. Weather you or someone else fixes the issue, Scamp can supply all the ABS fittings which can sometimes be hard to find. It has been a while but I think the tank instructions recommend silicone sealant to seal the threads. (Check with Scamp on sealant.) Make sure the drain valve is blocked and supported to the floor bottom. Sideways movement of the dump valve will break the thread seal and cause the leak.
Just letting you know what is involved in the repair.
Good Luck
Eddie
