Refrigerator door lock suggestions

I would appreciate any suggestions on how to secure the door ( 3 way ) in my 13' 2012 Scamp . Since it's hinged on the right side , can I drill a hole deeper on the left side or any suggestion on how to keep the door closed while traveling . Any help would be appreciated !

Securing Your Refrigerator Door

I used Command Hooks and an appropriate sized Bungee Cord.

Here's how I did mine...

I attached a Command Hook on the side of the cabinet (near the rear, facing backwards), far enough back to give my bungee cord a moderate stretch. I then attached the bungee cord to the refrigerator door.

As part of our pre-trip we simply attach the bungee to the fridge door and the Command hook.

Note: by placing the Command Hook near the rear of the cabinet it is completely out of the way.

As Always,

Happy Scamping !!!

Eggs on the floor

After one trip with a carton of eggs all over the floor when we arrived I invented a lock. Had a bucket of Bungee Balls from previous projects in the garage. Pkg (45) 6" Long Heavy Duty Elastic Bungee Cord with Ball Ends  (it is amazing what you can do with a bucket of bungee balls! Great for awning travel holders too) Put an eye hook on each side of the fridge and looped a bungee ball to each eye hook. They simply hang down when not in use and you pull them to the middle of the fridge and push each ball through the other loop and secure. Never came open again and takes about 15 seconds to secure or unsecure.

Refrigerator Door Lock

We had the same problem so we took the door and made it so it hinges on the left side.  It now stays shut!

Door lock

On some friges. on the opposite side of the door from the working hinge you can drill a small hole in the plastic trim cover. You then can insert a pin in the hole where the upper hinge screw would go. A nail with something wrapped around the head will work. While in storage you can open the door and drop in the pin and the door won't close completely.

So the plastic lever on my

So the plastic lever on my fridge broke and is gone, as you can see in the 1st picture.  I closed the fridge tightly and drilled a matching hole in the door as you can see in the 2nd picture.   The 3rd picture shows a peg that I have no idea were it came from.  I just know I had 2 of them that came with something that I purchased.

The final picture is the door closed with peg in place.

It works much better, in fact

It works much better, in fact this is not the original fridge on which the plastic lever broke.  This is a second fridge and when I installed it I didn't even want to contend with the plastic lever, so I immediately took it off and drilled the hole for the peg.
