Recommended Hitch

I am getting a 13 Scamp in about 3 months from the factory, my tow vehicle is a 2000 Ford Expedition, it has the tow package so all the connections are there for a 7 prong, the hitch receiver, and my wiring for my electric brake controller.

I know I need to get the hitch and ball as well that goes into the hitch receiver. When I do a search on those it brings up like 40,000 options, can anyone help me with one that you have and love, i.e. a particular brand, and if I need to get the adjustable type. Thanks!

No Preference

No real preference since the same mfg. makes quite a few brands. The real choice with the hitches is weather you want a square or round tube hitch. The thing to look for is is how your electrical plug will be mounted. They do make a bracket that mounts your jack to a round tube near the receiver that is out of the way of things. Adjustable stingers are expensive and not really needed unless you tow a bunch of trailers and they have more slop (rattle). Since you have an Expedition you will have quite a bit of drop and you can't determine how much drop you need until the receiver is installed. Tractor supply or Wall Mart usually have a good selection so you can select the correct drop a lot easier than returning heavy stingers on line.

E trailer is a good place to shop for receivers, then compare prices with Amazon or others after you have the correct style and part #.
