Propane issues

We are getting ready for our first trip tomorrow and I can not get the propane working. Filled the tank yesterday. I'm able to light the stove burners and they stay on a few seconds and then go out. No propane sound coming from fixtures as if I am out of propane. Turned on the heater. No heat. Am I missing something? Is it an air bubble and is there a way of bleeding the system?

Propane

Hey Anthony,

Sometimes if you turn the knob on the propane tank too fast when opening it triggers a safety valve. Try shutting the propane tank off, then wait a few minutes and slowly open the valve. If that doesn’t do it and all the appliances are doing exactly the same thing I would suspect a bad regulator.

Propane

Thanks Greg! All systems are now up and running. I did shut the propane off at the tank and then turned it back on. The stove would not remain lit and when it went out, there was no gas sound. After several attempts it stayed lit. Refrigerator, water heater and heater in the camper are all working. Perhaps there was some air in the line that had to work its way out.
