Yes, we will pick it up...but there are complications. Our grandaughter is getting married Oct 9 in California. If it is done early enough we will get it on the way to CA. If not, we will do a day or two in the Backus, MN area, depending on the weather, or do the shakedown on the way home to SW Ohio. Stay tuned.

My Scamp (also a 16 std) should be ready about a week before yours, and I will also be making the trip there. By then I will have figured how where to stay for a day or two near Backus to test everything out before coming the 1300 miles back to North Carolina. I will be avoiding Chicago while towing but I guess that is not as practical for you to do. Anyway, if you are as excited as I am then the wait is going to be painful!
You betcha I will avoid Chicago. Last year, enroute to Oshkosh, WI frrom SW Ohio we went through Chicago (not towing). Never again. Going many miles around on the return trip was both faster and much easier on the nerves. On our trip to Backus, MN last week we went through Bloomington, IL then north through (around) Minneapolis/ St Paul.

There's a trailer park right in Backus, which wasn't yet open April 28th when we picked up our Scamp. We stayed at Riverview Trailer Park in Pine River (about 9 miles south of Backus) and it was nice. You could check and see if they are open when you will be there.
It's great that you have both made the decision and ordered. Not "complications", challenges! Challenge is good for the brain! That's what I keep telling myself. Power through it? I can just imagine how excited you are.
Take a look at the Michigan root US 2 to I 75 to US 23 back to I 75, no traffic, get to cross the big Mac bridge, and the best fall color tour. That would be my choice.
