New owners with 3 questions/issues

Hi, We are new Scamp owners and new to trailer camping.  We have been tenters for all are adult lives.  We have a 16' standard layout that we picked up 6 weeks ago.  We have camped 3 times, having electric and water each time.  We have somethings we need some help with. 1. The back window above the bed leaks.  I have tried to clean the drains but it still leaks.  2. The fresh water pump worked when we 1st got the camper home and we were flushing out and sanitizing the water system.  Now the water pump does not seem to pump, I can hear it running but no water is getting to the faucet or shower.  I have cleaned the filter but didn't help with the issue.  3. The refrigerator (3.7 cubic foot) worked great on shower power. I tried the propane this morning and it would beep continuously.  I switched back to shore power and the beeping continued.  We sure would appreciate your wisdom in finding anything to try in any of these problems.

Thanks, Paul & Kallie Jensen

Call Scamp about your problems

Sorry you're having such problems! Do call Scamp. Those are all things that should not be happening, you have a lot of time left on your warranty, and they will be best able to help you.

Regarding the leak:  If you

Regarding the leak:  If you have the rear view camera that might be where the leak actually is.  Water can drip down where the camera mounts, inside the fiberglass and down toward the window.  Happened on mine and the fix is silicone sealer.  Also, the screws holding the window in could be loose, maybe try tightening all of them.

Regarding the fresh water pump:  It's probably bad, and it's quite easy to replace.  Suggest getting a new pump under warranty and doing the labor yourself if you're able too.

No idea on the refer beeping, but I'll bet there's something in the manual about what will cause it to beep.  Hopefully it's something simple.

Congrats on the new Scamp!

Check window latching

If you have a sliding glass window, check that it is completely closed and latched.  It is difficult to tell sometimes if the rocker latch has caught.  I found that I need to forcefully push the sliding glass window to the right, to get it to lock tightly.  I have had the window vibrate open during travels and it is not easy to notice sometimes.  Now, I know the trick to locking our window tightly.

Refer beeping

The first time I used propane. The refer in our Scamp beeped continuously for about 15 minutes until the air was purged from the gas line and the propane finally got to the burner.

Thanks for all the

Thanks for all the suggestions.  I have a new water pump coming, the refrigerator started working. (makes sense now after reading about the air having to bleed out of the lines.  I'll keep trying things on the back window, but Scamp said to take it in to a repair shop to have it checked if need be.

Thanks again to every one

Fridge after travel

After travel, light a stove burner to make sure propane is flowing in lines.  Then turn off the stove and light the fridge.
