I bought a Scamp 16 new, received it two days ago. I ordered it without a microwave oven, and now I am looking to purchase one to fit in the cabinet space above the refrigerator. I would appreciate any suggestions/recommendations as to what brand to buy.

Microwave Oven
I did the same. Bought a small 700W Magic Chef. Fit just fine. Contact Scamp and get the brackets to screw it down to the floor. When I was there they gave me two for free. They are nothing special. I will try to post a pic of them tomorrow. You could just make your own. It was a good move not getting theirs. Way too expensive. I got the Magic Chef at a Mills Fleet Farm store in Fargo, ND. Don't know where else they have them. Check their web site. It was only $50 on sale.

I just figured out how to upload photos. This is a pic of the small metal piece that I got from Scamp to fasten my microwave to the bottom of the shelf above the stove. It is just a flat piece of aluminum with two holes in it. I used a short self tapping screw that you can see in the pic. The other end is screwed to the microwave with a screw from the unit. They use two of them but I only used one. You can also buy things called "mending braces" at a hardware store. The holes on the ones I saw were too big so you might need to drill new ones but there is room.
Is there a place to plug it in the cabinet. I am thinking to go with a convection microwave. Carl
Yes, there usually is one. I see you have one on order. Call them and make sure they are putting one in. I think it's a standard item but not sure. Also I recommend you get an AC outlet on the outside wall. I can pretty much guarantee you will be glad you have that one too.
We took delivery just weeks ago, and it came with a small micro wave oven in the cabinet above the fridge. It is small but works well and can be replaced when needed if it ever fails.
