My wife and I have been looking at fiberglass campers for several months trying to decide what might work for us. We are almost decided on a Scamp 19 but the closest we have been to one is on opposite sides of a 4 lane @ 70 mph. I admire anyone that can buy w/out seeing but that's just not in me. We live in eastern NC, midway between Raleigh & I95. Are there any 19' owners in the mid-Atlantic region willing to do a show & tell? VA, WV, eastern Tenn, SC, or north GA aren't unreasonable for us. Thanks in advance to any offers!

Hello from NC
Before I bought my first Scamp I thought the same way as you. Without seeing one, how was I to know if I would like one or if I would think they were worth the money. I searched the internet only to find some too far away. I called Scamp and they told me me there are Scamp owners that were in my area that would be willing to allow me to see their rig. It is because Scamp will reimburse them if a person buys a Scamp after looking at their trailer. So call Scamp and ask if there are any in your area and if you could go and look at one. I talked to a man with a fifth wheeler and he explained the good and bad about his. I ended up buying one and was happy.
Good luck.
I have to agree. I wanted to see one before putting down a deposit. Scamp factory gave me a name of a person close to my area. I visited the owner and examined his Scamp 5er deluxe up and down. He gave me all the pros and cons. It was exactly what I wanted, so -- the order was made. I have never been sorry in the seven years I have had mine. - - Earl
A big thanks to both that have commented! Good to get further input on the Scamps. I think I may not have provided enough info. I've already called Sales @Scamp and they gave me two contacts. The first hasn't called me back yet...not a surprise since it's a holiday w'end and the second was very nice and offered to show his...if he still had it. He'd sold it several months ago and has since bought an Evergreen. He's the one that suggested joining the forum and asking if someone was willing to do a show & tell.
Again thanks for the comments and if there's anyone that has one available to view in the mid-Atlantic region, I'd really appreciate the chance.

Welcome to the Clubhouse!
The member directory is only available to Lifetime SOI Members, but one of the really cool features is you can sort it by state and then PM folks near you for gatherings or questions, etc.
We have approx 20 SOI members in NC and two have 5th Wheels. One is in Waynesville and the other in Morganton. If either of those would work for you I will PM them your post and see if they'd be willing to have you come by.

I'd like to thank everyone who made efforts to hook us up a a local 5th wheel owner. We met with Barry & Sharryn on Sunday morning and looked over their Scamp. We had a wonderful visit and our decision is made...we will be purchasing a Scamp in the very near future. A special thanks to B & S for their time and friendly conversation. Thanks again to the forum members who took time to respond and help make our visit possible!
