I am a firm believer in giving positive and negative feedback on everything so I wanted to give some feedback here. I think SOI is extremely welcoming in all aspects. I appreciate, and I am sure others do too, that you don't have to log in to read the posts. Sometimes, I just hop over here quickly after checking my email and sometimes I have logged out or am on a different computer and that works great. I just signed up with another forum to look for "issues" with that unit because you can't read anything without doing that. And, now I learn unless you give an "introduction", you cannot post. Fine, it is their website but I am not ready to give an introduction there. Now that I am older, if it is a hassle and isn't absolutely necessary, I don't bother with it. Life is too short.
So, I hope SOI will always be able to be open and inviting without a lot of hoops but I know also that sometimes, with all the degenerates trying to ruin things for others that extra precautions have to be taken.
What is hardest for me is when websites have those little blocks with zig zaggy numbers/letters that you have to type in the box. I have yet to get any right before the 3rd try. Often I give up. The audio is even worse. "What?" I keep shouting!
I totally agree! I have neveer been able to get a "captcha" right the first time. I've left a few forums because of the 'security' policies.

Great feedback. As a forum owner, web designer, and just everyday user I know exactly the frustrations. One doesn't see, unless you run and manage a forum or website the amount of "bad guys/girls/robots" that try and get in daily to spam the forum and who knows what else. We're fortunate here that every membership has to pass a human review process so there is no need for Captcha's or the like. If I could show you this end of the spam applications that we have to ferret out on a daily basis to protect SOI you'd fall over. One of the big tells is that the robots always want a "Lifetime Membership" but of course there is never a corresponding payment for that.
Our big issue is at fiberglass-rv-4sale where the massive amount of traffic and sign-ups is very difficult to monitor by hand. We do use captcha there, mainly because we sometimes got 20-50 spammer sign-ups daily and we were wearing out. We are experimenting with a new reCaptcha there that is run by Google and you may have seen it where you simply check a box that says "I am not a robot." Very simple and state of the art and you will probably see some form of it on the other site soon.
For now at SOI, we don't need to move to a more secure level, and I hope we can keep it that way for years to come.

Your work keeping a clean website is much appreciated, Greg. I have only a vague understanding of this cyber world and at my agewill probably remain that way.

Wonderful job Greg. I do not possess such talents with a computer as you! Guess flying just captured my best years. We out here are eternally grateful for your work at keeping the Scamp site so clean and easy to get on to. Now being a Scamp owner, I feel a sort of license if you will to be on the sites, share, and learn! Like the mouse proof electrical hook up,I am so wanting to install on our beloved 16. Thank you again Greg for your dedicated work for our enjoyment!

i must be of that certain age also because I never ever get all the letters right on the first try of trying to get into some site.I love this site and like seeing what everyoe out there is doing with their Scamps. We came 1400 miles, long way around this time, from Nv to Ks and never once spotted another Scamp...I was on the lookout the whole way ha. Maybe on the way home up thru Colorado, hopefully might spot one
