End of Season

The Scamp goes up on its storage jacks this week where it will rest all covered up until late April. It has been a great season of travels and we are so happy we purchased our 13 footer.

This week we spent three days at Nerstrand Big Woods State Park in south eastern Minnesota. On Sunday night and all day Monday we had 35MPH sustained winds with gusts to 55MPH. Our Clam shelter remained standing the whole time with just its internal stakes holding it down. This park has great hiking trails through a woods untouched by logging. Now we will start planning for next year's trips.

Gorgeous

Leaf season looks really awesome there. Nice space on the campsite, looks like a very nice park. Are there utilities or are the sites dry?

The park has electric in many

The park has electric in many of the sites. There are water taps every 3-4 sites. There is a dump station for black water. It also has hot showers in the restroom (open until Oct. 18–we had first hard freeze this week) or several vault outhouses. This is a very well maintained park with lots of wild flowers in the spring. Its website has lots of pictures including the park's small waterfalls. The leaves were at about 75% of peak this week.

screen tent

Is that your screen tent?  Our screen tent died an unceremonious death this summer and we're looking for a new one.

Screen Tent

Yes, we have a CLAM shelter.

You can view them online at clamoutdoors.com in their section on shelters. They are called "Quick-set Escape."

They come in green or brown. Amazon and other outlets sell them at a discount. The folded up length is a bit over 5 feet long so that can challenge some people's storage space. They go up and come down in about two minutes once you learn the routine. In my opinion they are well worth the investment (I have no connections to the company).

CLAM shelter

Thanks for the information.  I think we saw one of these when we were camping this summer.  It looked to be the only screen shelter that weathered a sudden squall.
