Electric brakes

I know that somewhere I must have saw something on adding electric brakes to a TV....and just not paid any attention as we never had them on our 13ft but now since we are moving up to a 16 we need to put them on .Any links as to which any of you, that have done this for years can give will be greatly appreciated.Launey likes to do all his work hiself...He has this old mind set that he does his things better then most would do it for him and he has never had any experience in doing electric brakes.TV is a 2012 Ford Escape Limited v6..thanks

Elec brake kits

E trailer sells electric brake controllers. They also sell the plug and play adapter kits if your tow vehicle is equipped. If you tow vehicle is not equipped for the plug and play adapters they also sell a complete start from scratch wiring kit. They also have videos to cover a lot of installations. If you are unsure of what you need call them on their 1 800 number and talk to one of their reps. they are very helpful. Or go to U-haul  service center and they can install what you need.

Thanks Eddie

I will tell him what you said about E trailer. I keep telling him just take it to Uhaul....when we traded vechiles he took the hitch of our 2009 and put it on the 12...he noticed that that he didnt like how they had put the wires on,not tucking up them up and hiding em,takes longer time but thats how he does things,so he is resisting me in taking it to them :-) Just a little thing but a big thing to mr perfect lol

Electric Brakes

We had our electric brake hitch and controller installed by eTrailer, and labor was free. If they have never installed a hitch set up on a particular vehicle, labor is free. They video tape it for others with the same type vehicle. The controller must be adjusted as when installed it is NOT adjusted. Once adjusted, they work fine and sure help the tow vehicle slow down properly.
