Disbursed camping/boondocking black water?

Hello all:

Contemplating getting a 13' with the bathroom. We pretty much exclusively use disbursed camping areas. Campgrounds with pit toilets very rarely.

The Class C we recently sold had a 35 gallon black tank which could take us for a week, or more.

A question for other boondockers, how long does the 9 gallon black tank really last you before you are off searching for a dump station? 2-3 days??

Thanks

Ed

Can't actually answer your

Can't actually answer your question, but keep in mind that a conventional toilet also requires additional fresh water for flushing. That's why I chose to use a C-head composting toilet. No water required, and I can go for several weeks without having to empty it.

Another non answer

Just some information. I have the wet bath, and because I wanted plenty of water, I added a second fresh water tank. That's 24 gallons of fresh water, and total of 30 gallons of waste water tanks. (Another 6 in the water heater, makes a perfect match, but you can't move it when the fresh runs out.)

Dispersed

Since you Say “We,” the answer is really not long. I’ve seen a single fella make it through a week at Quartzsite, but there are facilities in town folks use there. Depends on the use how long, but only a couple of days if not watering the trees a lot. surprise

One option is to get an RV Tote so you don’t have to move the trailer, but you’d still have to find a dump station.

A solution? Worth a try.

Decided to give this a try for me for when we are in the middle of nowhere by ourselves.

That will reserve the inside facilities for management. wink

Disbursed camping??

What is "disbursed" camping?  (This is the first time I have heard use of this terminology.)

Disbursed camping is a term

Disbursed camping is a term commonly used in Forest Service, BLM, etc., areas.

it means camping in an area that is not a formal campground. I.e. you simply find a spot where disbursed camping is permitted and call it home. Generally with a 14 day limit.

Our preferred camping style.

Thanks.  We have done that kind of camping, but didn't know what it was called!
