Converter

We returned from our first trip in the 2006 16 foot deluxe we bought used without any issues. A week later, when I checked the water pump in preparation for our next trip, it made a surging sound and water pressure at the faucet seemed weak. Upon closer inspection I discovered the converter also makes a soft surging sound at a rate of about once every two seconds. When a radio is plugged into a receptacle, the surging power is really obvious. This happens when the unit is plugged into the house AC. Nothing operates when disconnected from AC.  Is the converter bad, the water pump, or both?

Converter

I disconnected the battery and when hooked to shore power everything works fine. Apparently, the converter was trying to charge the battery and didn't have enough juice left to run the Camper. Looks like all I need to do is either charge or replace the battery.  Any other thoughts anyone?

30 A

Do you have 30A service you're plugging into at the house or are you plugging into 110? If so, that could be part of the issue. Take the battery over to Wally and they'll test and charge it for free if it passes to eliminate that part of it.

I got it now

OK, I got it now....You were referring to a 110V/30A circuit on your house, rather than the usual 20A service.

I thought Greg meant that if

I thought Greg meant that if you were plugging into typical 110 house current (which is usually 15 amps around here) and it was not a 30 amp circuit, then that could be the problem.

But OP said "I disconnected the battery and when hooked to shore power everything works fine. "

So without knowing if he meant 30 amp shore power or 15 (maybe 20) amp house / shore power. . my bet is on the battery being bad.

Plus its a used trailer he has only had a short time.. yup, me thinks the battery is the primary suspect and first thing to check.  Maybe even its just corroded terminals.

Battery

One of the first recommendations I made in post 3 was to get the battery tested, but we haven't heard back whether he has done that yet or not. Hopefully, he'll chime back in with the results of the battery test and what the resolution was or it is a bigger issue.
