We picked up our new 13 Std. A week ago, It has a 54" bed, A/C, Fantastic fan, furnace, ice box, 3 extra lights, front cabinet, 2 side cabinets, vinyl floor, no front window and a few other things. WE are most excited about the big bed,
The plan was to leave the bed set up full time. We slept in it last night with the furnace running and minimal bedding. We slept well in that spacious bed. This morning we decided to knock the bed down and raise the table. The table is roughly 30" X 30" with an additional 24" X 30" board to support the front edge of the bed. I folded all the bedding and placed the bedding and pillows in the rear of the camper between the benches, then placed the 24" X 30" bed support panel on top of the bedding. That is where the bedding shall be stored. Neat!
Since the benches are 54" long and the table top is roughly 30" X30", the side benches are very easy to sit on, No more having to slide behind the table to sit on the benches, just sit down! This works well for Lilly and me. I hope all of you get to inspect a 54" bed.

Thanks for the information about the big bed. I ordered my Scamp 13 with the big bed also and after reading your post I'm kind of excited. Do you know the exact measurements of the bed? Is it a true rectangle? I would love to have someone with drafting skills create an accurate drawing that we could turn into a PDF (or CAD drawing) and post here. Anyone need a spring project?

We picked up our 2016 - 13ft Deluxe with a big bed and front dinette. Had a custom mattress made for it...our first outing is April 28 - May 1 at the cooler near the lake...
Lilly and Bob, we really enjoyed our big bed in our 13' Scamp Deluxe, after our 13' Scamp Standard was sold because the bed kept shrinking as we got larger. I did make a table out of plywood that was lighter than the original, and it was hinged (not quite in the middle). This allowed us to keep the small table up for the two of us, and extend it when we had company. This modification also made going from the bed position to the table much easier, as we did not have to stow the "filler" wood piece (just fold the table). I tried to post pictures of it but the file is to large and I can't figure out how to resize them from my photo collection, but you can see them on FGRV.COM if you do a search about folding tables. Last year we bought a 1998 13 Std. It is a nice camper, we couldn't adjust to the bed, sounds very familiar doesn't it. We then purchased a 1988 19 Deluxe, The front bed is larger, but difficult for this old man to climb into. ( Deluxe Scamps have nice interiors) I think the big bed 13 will be the best compromise for my wife and I. We will be listing our two used Scamps in the very near future.
I had made a special table, that knocks down for use with the front couch of the 13. The silverware drawer can slide over it and it can be pushed into the door opening when cooking. It disassembes with one wing nut and stores easily under the bed. It works well, it isn't really needed with the big bed set up.

We will try to post a photo of new 13 with the big bed. You will see that getting on and of the benches is much easier with the short table. You can see the bedding stacked at the rear of the camper, covered with a towel.

Wow That table looks really small. We just ordered at 13' with the big bed but now I'm wondering if we have lost table space. Can four people (2 adults and 2 kids) sit at the table comfortably?
Yes, hmagin four people can sit at that table. scampercamper's picture shows the extra board and bedding under the table. With that stuff stored some place else four people can sit comfortably there.
