8' awning size?

I have ordered an 8' awning on my 13' Scamp. And wondering how far the awning extends out from the trailer. I am assuming the 8' length is the length the awning attaches to the trailer. I have 12' screening with doors  that I used on a Caravan canopy and wondering if it is adaptable to the awning?

the 8' awning on the scamp 13' extends 7'
