16' Side dinette

Is it easy to turn the side dinette into a bed?  I mean, how long does it take and is it comfortable for one adult?  I ask this because I don't see me and the DW sleeping side by side or head to toe (reversed) on the 44" wide rear dinette bed.  Plus if I had a plan 6 I'd want to leave the big bed up all of the time

Should Be Easy

In all of our campers, it was just drop the table and spread out the cushions.  Small has trade-offs.  Another thing to consider, if you haven't seen this is an extension:  http://www.scampcamper.com/forums/extended-bed-mod  One question that has been on my mind is what the size of that side dinette bed would be as I know the one in the EggCamper is 23" x 68".  The RV industry, as a whole, do not follow any kind of standard when it comes to the bed sizes which can really make it difficult.

I came across some info on the side bed in the Scamp 16:  one person measured it at 24" x 81" and the other 23" x 79" so it is some where there abouts.

We use the side dinette bed

We use the side dinette bed nightly, and it is not at all difficult to set up or take down. I will say, having just one inside to accomplish this is a absolute! Enjoy!

I use it all the time, set up

I use it all the time, set up takes minutes, very comfy, i`m narrow but long and i can really stretch out. We can both use the double bed but we do not want to disturb each other during the night when using the potti.  Carl

Side Dinette

Thank you for your responses, especially Doug & Carl, quite recent to a inquiry I made last February (shortly before purchasing our 2003 Scamp 16').  Camping together with my wife we've spent a total of 25 nights since last March.  DW is getting tired of climbing over me to go to the toilet, just like your case, Carl.  So, on are next trip she'll sleep on the side dinette bed and the dog and I on the larger bed.  If this works better for us then I'll buy some memory foam to cover the side dinette cushions.  We've used a 3" memory foam topper over the rear bed and that has worked really well.

Yeah Steve,mitmjust makes

Yeah Steve,it just makes sense for one on the dinette side and one on the rear bed. We got a memory foam pad on Amazon at a great price, trimmed it to fit the side dinettes, and dedicated a sheet as well. Works out great. My bride tells me she was up for a potty break at 0330 and I never heard her !

Good to know

Im reading this whole thread and thinking, wow! So we are not the only ones doing that middle of the night potty thing ha. When one is 20,even 30 something, those things are /were just unheard of.For us at least. Get our new 16ft Casita in 11 days.Yippee! Beginning to get a tad excited now. We're leaving home tomorrow to go across country to visit some family members which live much closer to Tx then we are...and will just "drop"down to TX to pick it up..Hopefully I will learn to post pics on here.
