I'm on my first extended trip with my new 13'.
My first stop was in Winchester, VA where the Scamp "lives":
Then it was in to DC for research at the National Archives While here, I've been Scamping Wid Da Big Boys at Cherry Hill RV in College Park, MD:
Tomorrow, I'm off to Great Falls, MT, then down thru Boulder and ABQ to Las Cruces, around El Paso and up to Comanche Homecoming in beautiful downtown Walters, OK. I'll post pix as appropriate (or not).

Sounds like it will be a very interesting trip, Tom. Can't wait to follow along.....

HA! I see in the one photo your "little" Scamp parked between two large Class A motorhomes!
Two nights at The Last Resort, a nice small RV park 2 miles east of Nashville, IN, (16 mile e of Bloomington and IU) then to Rock Island, IL.

HI All:
I'm in Albuquerque now, by way of Rock Island,IL, Mitchell SD, Sheridan WY, Great Falls, MT, back to Sherifdan, and Boulder, CO. Still got Las Cruces, NM, San Angelo TX, Ft. Worth, and Walters, OK (Comanche Homecoming) to get to before heading home.
Everything pretty much shaken down.
The Scamp survived a tornado/straight line winds in Iowa, although my car looks like a golf ball from the hail. (the plastic cover on the gas gauge was broken tho.)
A couple of hints to Newbies (like me) when doing the final check before heading out:
-FINISH one task (like putting away the hose) before starting the next, even if it means circling the Scamp several times; it's too easy to get distracted.
-make sure the pebble shield is secure (mine is somewhere in Wyoming): it's too easy to just look down (at the wheels, hose connections, etc), you gotta look up as well.
On The Road, Again.

Dr. Tom,
Did you camp in Fort Worth while you were there? If so, can you recommend a campground? The couple of times we have gone there, we had a very hard time finding a good campground.
Thanks!

I haven't got to FW yet. ;-) That's on the itinerary for next week. I had planned on staying at the KOA, but now you've got me worried.
dr tom
The KOA is nice and so you will be fine. It is just not an option for us...too far away from where my family lives. What we have struggled with in the Fort Worth area is that it seems like if you can't do the KOA, there just isn't much out there. Maybe someone familiar with the area will chime in.

I may come for the archives, but I stay for the food. My haul from the ABQ flea market this morning. Red chile ristra, fresh roasted green chile, green chile jerky, pinones; sopaipilla mix, carne adovada mix, fresh yellow corn tortillas.
dr tom
I love to put the fresh red chile's in my scrambled eggs. My Ristra's tend to look lean after awhile.

My ultimate destination on my trip was the Comanche Homecoming Powwow in Walters, Oklahoma.
Here's my camp:
And the same after a few hours:
But with visitors like this, who's complaining. Miss Chelsey Fodder:
