First trip coming up

We have our new Scamp 13 in our garage, went and picked it up at Backus a couple months ago (but was 0 degrees all the way home so did not try camping in it!!!!). Our first camping trip is coming up soon and chance to check out the options.

One main question here - the camp site we are in say that electric is 40 feet away, so I guess that means extension cord to plug in since the Scamp has a 25 foot cord. Is there some special cord I buy for that?

Second - what else do I need to be sure to bring, we'll remember food, do a lot of cooking on the fire, pans/pots/plates, etc. I have chocks and blocks for unhitching the scamp, spare fuses, sleeping gear. But anything I might be forgetting? On this trip we are planning to test out the refrigerator and stove, will save the water for next trip.

Extension Cord

A good quality #14 wire gauge three wire extension cord should work. That is what we use but we don't have AC. Even with AC though I think it would be okay. Don't forget adaptors. You need one to connect the extension cord to the Scamp wire, which is 30 ampere, and maybe one to connect the extension cord to the camp ground electric box. Some camp ground electric boxes only have 30 and 50 ampere outlets. A standard extension cord will have a 15/20 ampere plug.

Good luck and have fun on your first trial scamping trip.
