Fiamma makes a "rain guard" for closing the gap between the scamp and the awning. I know some people use pool noodles and others have more creative fixes. However the Fiamma looks good and can remain on the camper while towing but be removed for cleaning when wanted. There is a youtube video showing this on another fiberglass camper. Has anyone put this on a scamp ? The "Lower rain guard" should work for our situation. Costs $5.00 per foot. On a 13 foot scamp there is 6 feet between mounting brackets. Available from fiamma USA in Florida. Any experience with this product out there ?

Fiamma seems to want to cover itself for liability if someone does not properly tie down the awning and it gets wind damaged. Just like any other awning. These rain gutters are made by fiamma itself and the intended use is for rainy days. It installs into slots made for this installation. They obviously intend the awning to be used in the rain. Properly tied down I believe this awning is as good as any other in the rain and is fine to use for rain shelter. I used an awning in a bag in my popup for 14 years before getting my scamp with no problems. I am not worried.
Hillsider, yes legal issues are always in the forefront. Seems many retailer's web sites these days are older than the new products they sell. Would be nice if FAQ were dated as to the latest revisions. I agree it doesn't make sense to suggest not using the product in the rain and at the same time sell accessories to help using the product in the rain. My wife does accuse me of taking things toooo literally.

This looks like a very good solution for the Fiamma Awnings. I would agree that if you take proper precautions when dealing with an awning they most certainly are most beneficial to be used when it's raining out. What the retraction warnings should consist of is not to use them in High Winds. Even properly staked down, out here in the West your awning can get shredded quickly.
What I'm not seeing at a glance is can this product stay in place while towing?

Fiamma makes the Fiamma F45 "Awning Tension Rafter" which adds a center rafter to help with prevent water pooling and aid water sheding from the awning. A bit pricy but I think worth as I plan to use the awning a lot rain or shine. (NO not in high winds, same as any awning.) It is available from Gowesty. My 2013 16' Std. came with the center tension rafter along with the stow away mounting brackets. I mounted them on the inside closet door frame. I couldn't imagine not using it. Must be optional for the 13' Scamps.
