Weather can be anything from mid 70's and beautiful during the day to snow, rain and colder temps. You never know what to expect in December in Sedona, so come prepared for any weather and make sure you have warm outerwear as it is always chilly to cold at night during the events.
The primary event for this Scamp Camp SW has always been the Christmas celebration at Tlaquepaque on Saturday afternoon. It is a wonderful event filled with music, hot cider, Santa, expensive shopping and more. The official times and schedule are listed below for the event. The don't miss events for us have always been the luminaria lighting at 5pm, Swing Tips 6-8 pm, and don't miss the River of Life choir 5:30-7:30 pm. Also, this year marks the return of the Red Rocks Fantasy light displays which will be held in Tlaquepaque as well.
We will begin registration after I arrive on Thursday afternoon and will be available on and off going forward. Improptu dining groups usually get together will go out to sample some of the marvelous restaurants in Sedona over Scamp Camp.
Saturday at 10am we will have official trailer tours for those that wish to participate. Anyone that is coming up for the day to see the different trailers, you need to arrive by 10am.

What a glorious 3 days and nights of Sedona, AZ weather and sunshine for Scamp Camp SW this year. Finally, we had absolutely perfect weather for the event with high 60's in the daytime and mid-40's at night. It was so beautiful at the Christmas event at Tlaquepaque on Saturday night you almost didn't need a coat.
Thursday night approximately 15 of the early arrivals all went to the Oak Creek Brewery for an impromptu dinner. Everyone enjoyed rafts of beer tasting, wine, and awesome food. For desert Pete n Jackie had to lead us all down to the fudge shop and convince the owner to stay open until we put a dent in his remaining inventory. An after dinner stroll through Tlaquepaque revealed many of the Fantasy of Lights exhibits and everyone's favorite was the lighted two story Christmas ornament you could get inside for photo ops.
We ultimately had 16 trailers check-in by Sat morning: The official attendance - 6 Scamp 16's, 3 Scamp 13's, 2 Scamp 19's, 2 Casitas, 2 Escape 19's, and 1 Lil Snoozy.
The trailer tours on Saturday morning were a big hit. I've never seen trailer tours go as long as these. Started at 10am and were still going at 2:30. We had 3 parties show up on Saturday who came just to tour the trailers and make buying decisions. One couple lives in Sedona and hoped to see an Escape 21, but we didn't have one this year. Another couple came from CA and did quite extensive tours. When they left, I think they had changed their minds about 3 times as to what would work for them. One woman came all the way from New Orleans and I think she was pretty settled on a 13 Scamp with front bath by the time she left. During trailer tours folks were able to put their heads together and fix two power issues on two of the Scamps and a tow vehicle. Below is Launey troubleshooting the charge line on Sandra's tow vehicle. Luaney ultimately repaired the entire 7pin connector that wasn't working for her. Way to go Launey!
Pete n Jackie broke out the guitars and got Michael to join them for a little bit of campfire music in the gorgeous sunshine.
After a beautiful two days of weather everyone headed off to the Festival of Lights at Tlaquepaque for an awesome pre Christmas celebration. From lighting the 6000 luminaries to beautifully decorated streets, hot cider carts, Santa, and live Music and shopping everywhere you turned.
A heartfelt thanks to all who attended Scamp Camp SW 2016! We enjoyed getting to see old friends and meet many new ones. A big shout out to Schylar who designed and made an SOI Registration Banner for Scamp Camps. We will be unveiling it at the registration table for the Quartzsite gathering in February. It's really cool, thanks Schylar!
Until we meet again, a very Merry Christmas from SOI.
