Plastidip Experiment!

After removing all the rivets, replacing windows and patching holes I'm in need of a color update. I know painting fiberglass is tricky business so I'm trying out Plastidip as a paint alternative for now. It's been a big thing lately for temporary (2-4 year) paint jobs on cars but seems it would stick much better to fiberglass than to smooth glossy surfaces like on vehicles.

So an investment of a whopping $43 on 12 cans of rattle can navy gets me here. It's nice because you don't have to tape anything off, any over spray can be rubbed/peeled off pretty easily - that's why my trim looks terrible so far! Lets see how long it lasts!

Plastidip

I used it to cover up some chrome emblems on my truck about 9 months ago. It's holding up good so far for me.The trailer looks good.

Paint

Not familiar with Plastidip. The best self paint jobs I've seen on molded glass trailers folks got Marine paint and used rollers to apply.

The pro shops can paint them up beautifully, but that's a very expensive option.

Plastic dip White Stone guard on front corners

I painted a couple of white stone guards on the front of our 13ft with plastic dip. It will take rocks and peel off when it gets banged up..

Rust-o-leum recommend peeling it every 6 months.

Nice Dip

Wow, that looks awesome. I can't wait to see it at Scamp Camp SW as I'm thinking it might be the perfect product to replace the vinyl rock guards on the front of our trailer. Did you put the glossy top product over it?
